BOROUGH OF SCHWENKSVILLE, PA SPECIAL MEETING APRIL 23, 1997 

 

The special meeting the April 23, l997 was called to order by President, E. M. (Sue) Kuhn at 8:00 p.m.

 

The secretary called the roll and present were: E. M. (Sue) Kuhn, Joseph Giunta, Joan Giunta, Bernard McCollum, and Mayor, William Clossin. Absent was Chris Kraft.

 

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: By the assembly.

 

The purpose of tonight's meeting is the awarding of Phase II Centennial Street Bid. This has been reviewed by Solicitor, Robert Brant and Engineer, Kenneth Yerger per Tom Snyder, Borough Manager. Everything is also unit price, meaning that an item can be added or deleted as council see fit.

 

MOTIONED BY JOSEPH GIUNTA AND SECONDED BY JOAN GIUNTA IT WAS VOTED TO AWARD THE PHASE II CENTENNIAL BID TO FLOY HERSCH, LOWEST RESPONSIBLE BIDDER. ALL WERE IN FAVOR AND THE MOTION CARRIED.

 

MOTIONED BY JOSEPH GIUNTA AND SECONDED BY JOAN GIUNTA IT WAS VOTED TO HAVE THOMAS SNYDER AND BERNARD McCOLLUM DOCUMENT THE NECESSARY AGREEMENTS. ALL WERE IN FAVOR AND THE MOTION CARRIED.

 

Also, tonight the estimates received for the Renovation of the Borough Building.

 

Tom Snyder and Bernie McCollum have received written estimates and those pertaining to the work needed to be done are:

 

From: Don Astheimer: Filling, Pointing, and Stucco work at a cost of $l300.00, E.F. Snell, Jr.: Painting Exterior $2,l95.00, S. Lester: Painting Exterior $2,800.00, DTP Contracting: Painting Exterior $2,l90.00. Larry Eckert of Eckert Signs: Painting of Borough Sign $l25.00 and Bill Goodwin: Painting of Borough Sign $l25.00.

 

MOTIONED BY BERNARD McCOLLUM AND SECONDED BY JOSEPH GIUNTA IT WAS VOTED TO AWARD THE ESTIMATES TO THE FOLLOWING:

 

ECKERT SIGNS: PAINTING OF THE TWO BOROUGH OUTSIDE SIGNS AT A COST OF $125.00; DON ASTHEIMER FOR BRICK POINTING, STUCCO AND PER ESTIMATE AT A COST OF $1,300.00; DTP (Dave Toporowski, Painting) PAINTING BUILDING PER HIS DETAILED ESTIMATE AT A COST OF $2,190.00. ALL WERE IN FAVOR AND THE MOTION CARRIED.

 

Letters will be sent to each of the above informing them of councils' decision and asking them to advise the office when the work will be done.

 

MOTIONED BY BERNARD McCOLLUM AND SECONDED BY JOSEPH GIUNTA IT WAS VOTED TO ADJOURN TONIGHT'S MEETING. ALL WERE IN FAVOR AND THE MOTION CARRIED.
